Disclaimer

Please read this before relying on an iQHOME report for a property purchase decision.

General information only

iQHOME is for general information only. It helps home buyers understand published council hazard mapping at a property location in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch. It is not a substitute for professional advice or formal council records.

Layer coverage and data sources differ by city. Your report includes only the hazard datasets published for the region you select. See What iQHOME checks for you on the homepage for the current layer list.

Not a substitute for
  • LIM (Land Information Memorandum) or other formal council property records
  • Legal advice from your lawyer or conveyancer
  • Engineering, geotechnical, or surveying reports
  • Insurance, lending, or valuation advice
Data limitations

Hazard mapping is regional desktop data. It may not reflect recent site works, retaining walls, drainage upgrades, or conditions visible only on site. Council layers can change when modelling is updated.

Geocoding and pin placement affect results. Always confirm the pin matches the property you are considering, especially for cross-lease, unit titles, or bare land.

iQHOME reports are not issued by any council. They summarise published GIS layers at your pin and do not replace council hazard viewers, LIMs, or site-specific assessments.

Before you buy

Always confirm important findings with the appropriate council and qualified professionals before making an offer. For Auckland reports, that may include Auckland Council. For Wellington, Wellington City Council and Greater Wellington Regional Council. For Christchurch, Christchurch City Council and Environment Canterbury where relevant.

If a report shows a hazard at or near a property, treat it as a prompt for further investigation, not a final answer.
